Alberto Fujimori released: Peru’s former president freed on humanitarian grounds
Peru’s former President Alberto Fujimori has been released from prison on humanitarian grounds.
The 85 year-old was serving a 25-year sentence for committing human rights abuses in the 1990s.
The constitutional court ordered his release despite the Inter-American Court of Human Rights asking for a delay to study the ruling.
