North Korea fires missile over east coast: South Korea working with partners on new sanctions
South Korea has said that it will be working on fresh sanctions against North Korea, after Pyongyang fired an intercontinental ballistic missile off its east coast.
The missile could be different to those fired previously, because it was in the air for longer.
North Korean media said it set a new record.
The missile landed around 300km west of Japan’s northern region of Hokkaido.
The US has condemned the launch.
Russia has told the UN Security Council that reports of North Korean soldiers being brought to fight with Russia in Ukraine are false.
It comes after the US repeated Ukraine’s claim that North Korea may have sent around 10,000 soldiers to train in eastern Russia.
