The UN Security Council adopts a resolution for ‘humanitarian pauses’ in Gaza.
Malta has drafted a resolution, hoping its focus on children will finally unite the UN Security Council, which has so far failed four times to take a united stance on the war on Gaza. The resolution calls for urgent and extended humanitarian pauses and corridors throughout the Gaza Strip for a sufficient number of days to enable aid access. A resolution needs at least nine votes in favor and no vetoes by the permanent members—the United States, Russia, China, France, or Britain.
