Germany refugees: New financial rules hinder daily life
Under Chancellor Angela Merkel, Germany said it had a humanitarian responsibility to take in refugees and to integrate them. Now, nearly ten years on, that attitude has changed. New rules are making life more difficult for refugees. They can no longer access cash, and have to use restrictive payment cards.
As Al Jazeera’s Dominic Kane now reports, many people believe it’s a reflection of how far to the right German politics has shifted.
