EU parliamentary elections: France’s far right set to make gains
Voters in the European Union will soon take part in the bloc’s parliamentary elections to elect 750 members of parliament – or MEPs.
Populist parties are expected to make big gains in several of the EU’s 27 member-states.
They include France, where Marine Le Pen’s far-right party is leading in opinion polls.
Victory for Le Pen could be a significant stepping stone to her becoming French president in 2027.
That’s something that’s increasingly worrying her opponents.
