Harris not likely to make major changes in Biden’s Israel policy: Analysis
Adel Abdel Ghafar, an analyst at the Middle East Council on Global Affairs, attributes Biden’s policies towards Israel to a generational issue. Born in the early ’40s, Biden grew up with strong pro-Israel influences from his parents, aware of the Holocaust’s atrocities. Ghafar notes that pro-Israel lobby groups remain influential, but a staunchly pro-Israel generation of politicians is fading. He suggests that Harris, 22 years younger than Biden, will mostly continue his policies, despite criticising the genocide in Gaza and calling for Rafah’s protection.
