‘Big shock’: Thailand faces political upheaval as PM removed from office
Thailand’s next Prime Minister could be announced within the week.
The governing coalition has put forward the daughter of the former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra to lead the country,
MPs will hold a vote on Friday morning to decide if 37-year-old Paetongtarn Shinawatra will govern.
But the dissolution of the Move Forward Party and the Constitutional Court’s dismissal of Srettha Thavisin has left many Thais frustrated by the political process.
Al Jazeera’s Tony Cheng reports.
