Boeing agrees to plead guilty over 737 MAX crashes, avoids trial

The US Justice Department says Boeing has agreed to plead guilty to a criminal fraud charge related to two fatal crashes of its 737 MAX jets in 2018 and 2019. The plea means Boeing will not face a criminal trial, a decision many families of victims say they oppose.
