Displacement crisis in Lebanon: Hundreds find refuge in Bekaa Valley

In Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley, a monastery has become a sanctuary for hundreds of internally displaced Shia Muslims fleeing Israeli bombings. While living in basic conditions, families express gratitude for the support received from Christian neighbours. Despite their displacement, their allegiance to Hezbollah remains unwavering, with no criticisms of the group among them. Local residents highlight a sense of unity among different sects, even as the threat of violence persists. Nearby, the aftermath of Israeli airstrikes leaves destruction, with many homes uninhabitable. Although solidarity exists within communities, ongoing conflict poses challenges to their bonds.
