Ethiopia extreme weather: At least 157 people killed after two landslides
An Ethiopian government official says at least 157 people have died in the district of Gofa in the southwest after two landslides hit the area.
Officials say women, children and police officers are among the dead.
Rescue efforts are underway.
Kemal Hashi Mohamoud is an Ethiopian Member of Parliament.
He says joint operations are underway to retrieve the bodies of those people still buried by Monday’s landslides.
