Israeli army drafting reservists for war in Lebanon

Israel is calling up reserve troops along its northern border with Lebanon as it steps up extensive air strikes on what it claims are Hezbollah sites.
But it’s civilians who are being caught in the firing line.

Lebanon’s health minister says 51 people were killed and 223 wounded in Israeli strikes on Wednesday.
Nearly 600 people, including 50 children have been killed across the country since Israel began its offensive on Monday.
Hundreds of thousands of people have fled from their homes in southern Lebanon, to escape Israel’s attacks.

Hezbollah has fired back with missile and rocket attacks. The northern city of Safed was among the areas hit.

Al Jazeera’s Stefanie Dekker has more from Jordan’s capital, Amman, because the Israeli government has banned Al Jazeera from reporting inside Israel.
