Mexico elections: ‘Near-shoring’ trend boosts manufacturing
Mexico is set to hold national elections on Sunday – crime, corruption, and a flagging economy are some of the big issues at the ballot box. Manufacturing which makes up over 20% of the country’s GDP is a key part of any plan to revive economic growth. And with the US recently looking to relocate some of its supply chains from Asia back to North America – a new trend known as ‘near-shoring’ is something many in Mexico are hoping a new leader will take advantage of.
