60. Katie Holmes

Net Worth: $25 million*
Purchased For: $25,000 a month in rent*
Sq. Footage: 2,400-Square-Feet

Actress and ex-wife of Tom Cruise Katie Holmes rents a swanky penthouse in Chelsea, having offloaded her Calabasas home for over $4.5 million a couple of years ago. The rent is $25,000 a month, and it is reminiscent of the $12,500-a-month apartment that she rented in 2012 after divorcing Cruise.

The Chelsea pad is 2,400-square-feet, and it has amazing city views of the World Trade Center and Empire State Building. The apartment comes with a private deck, wood-burning fireplace, chef’s kitchen, and Zen-inspired master bedroom with a spa bathroom. The smart-wired apartment uses the Lutron and Creston automation systems, which control the temperature, audio, lights, and window shades, all from Holmes’ iPhone.

61. Amy Sedaris

Net Worth: $12 million*
Purchased For: $1.8 million*
Sq. Footage: 700-Square-Feet

Amy Sedaris owns a whimsical apartment in Greenwich, and, in 2019, she paid around $1.7 million for the unit right above it. The actress’ new apartment is exactly like her old one, with one bedroom and one bathroom, and Sedaris bought it so that she could create a duplex on the fifth floor.

The Hampshire, the building where the now-duplex is located, was built in 1883, and it is located to the north of Washington Square. The dwelling is quite eclectic, with lampshades made of wig samples, yellow cupboards in the kitchen, and a low couch inspired by the seating in Matthew Broderick’s home.

62. Anderson Cooper

Net Worth: $200 million*
Purchased For: $4.2 million*
Sq. Footage: 8,240-Square-Feet

News anchor Anderson Cooper might own one of the most creative dwellings on this list. He bought an old firehouse in 2010 for just over $4 million, and he then spent millions overhauling it and turning it into a Beaux-Arts-style, chic abode. The building was originally built in the early 1900s, and Anderson has kept some of it original features.

The brass firepole, ceiling beams, and 9/11 memorial plaques are still in there, and Anderson even renovated the nineteenth-century gym with vintage-style workout equipment. The New York City home is far different from another house he owns, as that one is a luxurious tropical paradise in Brazil.

63. Steve Buscemi

Net Worth: $35 million*
Purchased For: $850,000* (Median Price)
Sq. Footage: 2,000-Square-Feet

Steve Buscemi lives in a townhouse in Park Slope, where the median sales price is around $850,000. The median rental price is about $3,000. The modest townhouse has been home for Buscemi for quite some time, as he was born in Brooklyn and has shown no signs of wanting to leave.

The Boardwalk Empire even ran into a little trouble with his neighbors, as he kept leaving items out on the stoop for people to take. The blog called “What’s on Steve Buscemi’s Stoop?” is dedicated to documenting each and every one is the mysterious treasures that the actor chooses to discard to the public.

64. Patrick Stewart

Net Worth: $70 million*
Purchased For: $2.5 million*
Sq. Footage: 1,610-Square-Feet

Another Park Slope resident is Star Trek’s Patrick Stewart, who bought a $2.5 million, three-bedroom condo at the property. The duplex is actually a converted carriage house, and it has a lot of nice features, such as a 1,200-square-foot roof deck that will allow Stewart to watch the stars.

Though the home has new, contemporary amenities and design, it has still kept some of its original features, such as the mantle in the living room, which was made from old beams from the building). Unsurprisingly, the house sold to Stewart for the asking price, thanks to the intense remodel that the sellers did before putting it on the market.
