Niger engages in talks with ECOWAS regarding post-coup transition phase
Leaders from a group of West African countries are negotiating with Niger’s military leaders for the release of deposed President Mohamed Bazoum – and a transition to civilian rule.
Bazoum was overthrown in a coup in July and has been kept under house arrest since then.
