NYPD arrests dozens of Columbia University protesters after clearing occupied building

Hundreds of New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers have entered the campus of Columbia University, taking multiple protesters into custody, in the latest escalation in the Gaza protests that have swept college campuses, mostly in the United States.
NYPD officers used flash-bang grenades to breach Columbia’s Hamilton Hall, which protesters had barricaded themselves inside Tuesday.
Live television images showed officers entering the university in upper Manhattan, which has been the focal point of student protests against Israel’s war in Gaza, in which more than 34,535 Palestinians have been killed.
