Without sugar-coating it, many ruthless critics consider Ben Affleck to be a terrible actor who shows very little emotion in his roles. “He’s just awful,” wrote one merciless Quora commenter. “You could substitute a cardboard cutout for him and get the same results.” Another commenter noted that Affleck’s brother Casey got all the talent in the family. But to play devil’s advocate, his role as Nick Dunne in Gone Girl was excellent, we won’t deny that.
