Retired Peruvian soldiers sentenced for raping teenage girls during civil war in historic verdict
A court in Lima has sentenced 13 former soldiers for systematic rape committed during the conflict in Peru between 1980 and 2000.
The decision comes a day after the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict.
Nine women fought for decades to get the convictions.
But this may not be the end of the case.
Al Jazeera’s Mariana Sanchez reports from Lima.
