SpaceX Starship booster caught: Robotic arms catch returning booster at launch pad
SpaceX’s Starship has achieved something it hasn’t done on four previous attempts.
Two robotic arms attached to the launch tower caught its heavy booster, as it returned to the landing pad.
It’s the first time this has been achieved.
Starship is the largest rocket ever built.
It’s designed for crewed and cargo missions – with both the spacecraft and the rocket intended to be reused, after returning to Earth.
Scott Walter is a mechanical and aerospace engineer and watched the launch.
He says it was an incredibly exciting experience.
