Turkish TV anchor continues reading news during earthquake




A magnitude-5.9 earthquake hit a town in north-west Turkey early on Wednesday, causing damage to some buildings and widespread panic. Footage released by Turkish private broadcaster TGRT shows how night-time anchorman Ersel Hoşkara continued presenting as the quake was felt in Istanbul and his studio while the caption underneath him read: ‘Breaking news: moment of the earthquake live on air.’ He said: ‘The studio is seriously shaking … it is lasting for a long time.’
The earthquake was centered in the town of Golkaya, in Düzce province, about 200km east of Istanbul
