UNRWA staff ‘despairing’ after Israeli attack: Analysis
Israeli forces have killed at least 39 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip since Wednesday.
Six were employees of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
They were killed in a targeted Israeli strike on a school in Nuseirat refugee camp.
Funerals have been held for some of the 18 people who died in the attack.
The school was being used as a shelter, housing around 12.000 displaced Palestinians.
UNRWA says it’s the highest death toll among its staff in a single incident, during the 11-month war.
Al Jazeera’s Hani Mahmoud has more from Deir el-Balah, in central Gaza.
Sam Rose, senior deputy director of UNRWA affairs in Gaza, says the organisation is facing one of its most difficult days following the attack on a school it runs that killed six of its staff members.
