US attack may push Iran to exit UN’s nuclear treaty: Analysis
The head of UN’s nuclear watchdog is leading an emergency meeting, after Sunday’s US strikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
Members of the International Atomic Energy Agency are in Vienna to assess the escalation and risks.
Both Iran and the IAEA have said, there are no immediate signs of radioactive contamination around the three sites that were targeted by the US.
The discussions come, as Iran’s parliament considers suspending its cooperation with the IAEA.
Al Jazeera’s Jonah Hull has more on the emergency meeting in Vienna, Austria.
Elena Sokova is the Executive Director of the Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation.
She says the US attack may lead Iran to consider leaving the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty altogether.
