War on Gaza: Israeli strike hits Mustafa Hafez school kills 12, dozens believed buried in the rubble
Dozens of people are believed to be buried in rubble – after an Israeli attack on a school in Gaza.
Emergency crews are searching for survivors after the building collapsed – killing at least 12 Palestinians, most of them women and children.
Civil defence says 700 displaced people were sheltering at Mustafa Hafez school west of Gaza City.
The wounded have been taken to the Baptist Hospital.
The Israeli army says it targeted a command centre used by Palestinian fighters at the school.
Local journalist Ibrahim Al Khalili reported live from the scene, providing an eyewitness account of the devastation and Al Jazeera’s Hind Khoudary is currently in Deir el-Balah, offering the latest updates on the situation.
