World DNA LIVE: Israeli government spokesman welcomes US led international navy coalition in Red Sea
Israeli government spokesman Elyon Levi on Wednesday (December 20) welcomed the coalition of ten navies that was formed to repel the Houthi threats. In a video conference briefing Levi said: "This is a threat not just to Israel but to global maritime trade, the peace and security of international maritime routes," and that Israel will address these threats without further elaborating. The Houthis, which control vast amounts of territory in Yemen after years of war, have since last month fired drones and missiles at international vessels sailing through the Red Sea, attacks it says respond to Israel’s assault on the Gaza Strip.
